It doesn’t look that bad, but 134 hp has got to suck. Are there tunes available for hybrids that could give it some extra oomph?

It's essentially a Prius.

I know Honda (Mugen?) supplies an offical superhcarger for the CRZ to give it some much needed oomph. No clue about the CT. Check TRD?

No matter how much power it makes, it can’t outrun the fact that it’s a fancy Prius.

Yeah, I love how these look too, but that power figure is so sad.
I hate what Lexus has done to the exterior of the IS250/350. I can’t stand the taillights and sideskirts.

But it solves some of the Prius’ most heinous problems: appearance, interior quality, handling, and the Prius name.

I’ll give you the front yuk, but the back is nice.

Probably a really nice commuter but I dont think any amount of tuning will make it very fun to drive.

as slow as it is, no one will ever see the back.

They can be made more fun with some better springs and tires, but there is no tuning available. Lexus/Toyota will not let anyone else into the ECU.
Even though there is a shit-ton of torque, they still neuter the electric motors, so when pulling away from a stop it’s slow as sloth shit. Even with the “drive mode select” dial turned to ‘sport’ it doesn’t really help much.
They really need to use the new 2.0T engine without the hybrid baggage in that to make it a really fun little car. Even detuned to ~200HP it would be a solid little city car and probably not suck too much to drive.
We really don’t have way of knowing how well that chassis can or can’t handle without all the batteries because no one has stripped one down yet. I have my suspicions that it would still be a bit too sloppy to really have fun with.
Which is a damn shame because they finally have it looking cool.

Personally, I think it is a cool looking hatch. Problem is the price tag and severe lack of power.

The reviews I’ve read say its not comfortable or sporty, its not fast nor does it have good brakes and it doesn’t get that great of mileage. Its the prius you buy because you want HOV access, not because you need to save money.

So it’s yet another car that makes no sense to buy over a Mazda3 hatch.

I’ve driven quite a few Lexi the last few years... Reliable cars for sure, but not the most fun cars.
Sure.. there’s JUST 134 hp.. but you’ve got 300nm at 4000 rpm.. The biggest problem is the CVT..
But yeah, not a bad car, it’s just not a great car.

HOV access for a hybrid? Where? That’s rediculous. 100% electric I can sort of see, but hybrid? That’s straight up bullshiiiit.
I have no plans to buy one, but I didn’t know until today that there was an F-sport version of the ct 200h.

Used to be California, but they got rid of that, Salt Lake used to do it too, but not they make you buy your pass, a few places still do this. Remember the CT200h was conceived in a time that hybrids did use to use the HOV free and clear.

It doesn't solve interior quality. It feels like a loaded Corolla inside.

Ouch, that’s pretty pathetic. I thought 134HP was only the gasoline engine figure... but that’s TOTAL combined power.
I have a buddy who has a Prius for commuting duty, and I seem to recall him telling me that he did some kind of tune on it. If I’m remembering right, it tweaks a few things, such as raising the all electric speed from 25mph to 35mph, bumping regen up from 2% to 4% (coasting). I think it also raises the charge/discharge rate of the batteries which would allow more current to the motor, effectively increasing horsepower. But I don’t think it’s its a lot, maybe another 15HP or something like that?

Hey, it may say it only has 134hp, but it FEELS like it has...80.
Nice car, comfortable and okay to drive, but all the slows? It haz them.

I’m not a fan of the styling, but the interior is OK, but the exterior is more interesting than the HS250. I like the idea of the "mouse". My friend went from a Mazda3 to a CT200h late last year, and last week to a CX-5, which she adores.
